About the Film

With the onset of military aggression in 2014, followed by Russia’s full-scale invasion in  2022, the state of ecology in Ukraine has undergone catastrophic deterioration. Thousands  of kilometers of scorched and mutilated land, forests reduced to ashes, and rivers  contaminated with toxins have become a grim reality. Amidst this desolation, countless  mined fields still harbor wandering animal.

Divia, an ancient Slavic goddess representing nature and all living things, stands in stark  opposition to war, destruction, and death. In Ukraine, over the past years, Divia has endured  unprecedented suffering. The landscape bears the scars of destruction: ravaged and  incinerated forests, endless craters from shell explosions, burnt-out military vehicles,  treacherous minefields, and the silent remains o  Russian invaders, all serving as gri testimony to Russian aggression and past battles.

Here, Russian troops almost appear as alien organisms that have invaded the natural world.  However, nature gradually asserts its resilience and pushes back against this intrusion.

Throughout the film, nature strives to heal itsel  from the wounds inflicted upon it. A formidable force, it transforms and absorbs the remnants of war, but not without the  assistance of caring human hands. Deminers, searchers of the fallen, ecologists, and animal  activists each enter this ravaged landscape one by one, endeavoring to gauge the extent of  the collective tragedy. They tend to the wounded body of their beloved land and work  towards restoring lost natural resources.
